What you'll do...
About the role We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable, reliable data solutions that enable analytics and data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into well-designed data pipelines, curated datasets, and governed data models. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with clear communication, ownership, and a commitment to data quality. Key responsibilities- Design, develop, and operate data pipelines using appropriate ingestion and transformation patterns.
- Identify and validate data sources; perform initial data quality checks and ensure data is fit for purpose.
- Design and evolve logical and physical data models to support analytics and reporting.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and data solutions; document assumptions, dependencies, and success criteria.
- Implement and support data governance practices in partnership with stakeholders.
- Write, test, and deploy code; create test cases and proofs of concept; maintain documentation and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams; provide timely status updates and proactively surface risks.
- Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines and curated datasets using Python, SQL, and Airflow.
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify objectives, define requirements/SLAs, and translate needs into actionable technical work.
- Perform data validation and quality checks; troubleshoot issues and improve reliability and observability.
- Contribute to data modeling efforts that support analytics and reporting use cases.
- Follow engineering best practices (version control, code review, testing, documentation) and support compliant, well-governed data usage.
- Strong ability to ask clarifying questions, align on scope, and communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated ownership: able to start independently, prioritize effectively, and escalate when blocked.
- High attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL (querying, optimization, and data validation).
- Intermediate Python for data engineering, automation, and maintainable code.
- Experience with Airflow (authoring, scheduling, and operating DAGs).
- Intermediate Git experience and comfort working on teams using version control and code review.
- Experience incorporating business context into data engineering decisions and solution design.
- Cloud experience: GCP preferred (AWS or Azure acceptable).
- Data warehouse experience: BigQuery preferred (Snowflake, Redshift, or similar acceptable).

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
