This role oversees the strategy, design, and delivery of learning and development programs by defining the learning roadmap; creating and managing program plans and timelines; partnering with business leaders to assess needs and prioritize solutions; developing communication and rollout plans to drive adoption; establishing learning standards and measurement approaches; monitoring effectiveness and iterating based on insights; and managing budgets and vendor relationships where required.

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Directs the implementation of learning solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; shaping a modern learning strategy and operating model; designing and evolving curricula and learning pathways (onboarding, role-based, leadership, and functional); facilitating and enabling train-the-trainer programs; leveraging best practices and learning science to improve learner experience; ensuring content accuracy and relevance; establishing assessment and certification approaches where appropriate; developing learning dashboards and insights to track engagement and impact; and partnering with Product, Work Force Management, Operations, and other internal teams to embed learning in the flow of work through job aids, performance support, and digital learning experiences (including responsible use of AI-enabled learning tools). This role also owns the strategy and governance for maintaining current, accurate knowledge base systems and knowledge content, ensuring updates keep pace with business changes and that content quality, freshness, and usage are measured and continuously improved.

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Drives measurable improvement in capability, performance, and engagement by identifying learning opportunities through data and stakeholder input; applying learning measurement methodologies (e.g., assessments, proficiency models, performance metrics, and feedback loops) to evaluate outcomes; iterating programs to increase effectiveness and relevance; using judgment to prioritize the highest-impact initiatives; and ensuring data accuracy and appropriate stewardship of learner information.

Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

You will make an impact by:

  • Own and evolve the learning operating model (intake, prioritization, governance, and content standards), ensuring programs are current, measurable, and aligned to business needs
  • Define and implement a scalable learning strategy spanning needs assessment, design, development, delivery, reinforcement, and measurement, aligned to Marketplace and network-level priorities
  • Lead Learning Experience Design by overseeing the design, build, launch, and continuous improvement of blended learning (facilitated, virtual, self-paced, and on-the-job) that enables consistent, confident associate execution
  • Establish and govern learning intake, delivery, and reinforcement (training calendars, facilitator capacity, train-the-trainer readiness, and sustainment mechanisms) to support evolving business needs and operational coverage
  • Own the portfolio roadmap for Learning & Development, aligning team capacity to Marketplace strategy, learner needs, and key transformation initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a robust learning measurement framework (engagement, proficiency, application, and business impact indicators) to evaluate effectiveness and continuously improve programs
  • Own the knowledge management ecosystem (knowledge base strategy, taxonomy, authoring and review workflows, and content governance) to keep guidance current as the business evolves and to reduce variability in execution
  • Define and track knowledge base health metrics (e.g., content freshness, accuracy/QA, search success, article adoption/deflection, and update cycle time) with a clear operating rhythm to ensure the organization keeps up with change
  • Partner closely with Marketplace Operations, Product, Engineering, Strategy, and Analytics teams to translate business objectives into scalable learning solutions, performance support, and knowledge management
  • Drive continuous innovation in learning by piloting new modalities (coaching, simulations, microlearning) and incorporating AI-enabled learning responsibly (e.g., content acceleration, personalization, practice, and performance support) while maintaining quality and governance
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a team of leaders setting a high bar for learner-centric design, facilitation excellence, and measurable impact while building a strong leadership bench

You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
  • You bring deep experience leading Learning & Development functions within complex, scaled environments (eCommerce, Marketplace, Support, or Tech-enabled operations preferred)
  • You have built and led enterprise learning programs, including intake and governance, curriculum standards, and measurable outcomes at scale—ideally including ownership of knowledge management systems/knowledge bases and the operating mechanisms to keep content current

  • You are a strong storyteller and influencer, able to translate learner data and business insights into clear narratives, recommendations, and investment cases for leaders
  • You thrive in ambiguous environments, bringing structure and momentum to build sustainable learning ecosystems, content governance, and partner alignment
