Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Senior Manager, Business Strategy, you will play a critical role in supporting Project Firefly, a large-scale, hardware-enabled initiative transforming how data is captured and used across suppliers, distribution centers, transportation teams and stores. You’ll lead cross-functional efforts that translate operational and customer needs into executable strategies, scalable programs, and repeatable processes—driving delivery from pilot through enterprise rollout while ensuring alignment across Product, Tech, Supply Chain, Store Ops, and external partners. What you’ll do
  • Drive business execution for IoT initiatives by setting priorities, removing operational and organizational barriers, defining performance standards, tracking progress, and adapting plans as pilots scale to enterprise deployment.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to ensure IoT solutions meet real-world operational needs and are deployable at Walmart scale.
  • Ensure business and operational outcomes are met by evaluating program effectiveness, leveraging data and field feedback, and continuously improving efficiency, reliability, and cost-to-serve.
  • Identify and resolve execution gaps by analyzing operational data, diagnosing root causes, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to implement scalable, repeatable solutions.
  • Drive change management and adoption by defining success metrics, validating business value, managing readiness, supporting training and communications, and ensuring smooth transitions from pilot to steady-state operations.
  • Oversee process improvement across multiple workstreams, incorporating learnings from pilots, benchmarking external solutions, and addressing systemic barriers impacting supplier, DC, and store execution.
  • Provide clear recommendations to senior leadership by assessing risks, surfacing tradeoffs, incorporating stakeholder input, and communicating progress, performance trends, and strategic direction.
  • Support enterprise communications and enablement by contributing to rollout plans, operational playbooks, associate training materials, and executive updates related to Project Firefly.
What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional programs, ideally involving technology, operations, and external partners.
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and execute across multiple concurrent initiatives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated success using data, field insights, and stakeholder input to diagnose problems and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Strength in change management, including driving adoption of new tools or processes at scale.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
