Position Summary...
As the Senior Manager, Asset Protection – Store Research, you will be a key leader in executing Walmart’s strategic goal of reducing shrink using research and critical thinking. Reporting to the Director of Asset Protection, you will be responsible for driving data-driven shrink research inventory management, and finical accuracy through advanced research, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. You will manage the day-to-day research of shrink impacts across all stores and supply chain to reduce risk and improve operational execution.You will excel being analytical and solution-driven with the ability to partner with the vendors, merchants, finance as well field leadership teams to effectively communicate complex research and insights, internally and externally. You will play a critical role in analyzing upstream shrink, invoice accuracy, and data trends across various channels. You will be responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to analyze across multiple stores and business units to drive inventory and financial accuracy.
You need the ability to leverage and learn tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, IRR, and SQL, you will derive both inventory and financial insights while communicating them back to internal and external stakeholders. From detection and research to correction, you will deliver critical insights to reduce potential shrink impacts.
What you'll do...
- Monitor Ticket Intake: Review, Respond, and Resolve. Review assigned tickets |Respond to associates in timely manner| Resolve issue ensures the stores are financially whole.
- Inventory Research: Identify opportunities billing, shipping, and invoicing using data and tools to reduce shrink impacts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and field teams to identify and remediate the root causes of shrink.
- Storytelling & Influence: Communicate research findings in a compelling and relevant manner to guide decision-making and corrective actions.
- Shrink Alerts: Review shrink alerts to prevent inventory impacts and reduce upstream loss by interpreting data and providing corrective actions.
- P&L Research: Monitor Book vs. Sku and SAP for complex anomalies that contribute to inventory or financial inaccuracies.
- Training & Education: Deliver training that educates field & Home-office associates on best practices for inventory management and shrink research.
- Research & Problem Framing: Expertise in analyzing complex data sets to identify trends and provide actionable insights while identifying opportunity that cause shrink.
- System Thinking: Ability to connect research insights to the broader business process while identifying patterns and opportunities. A strong commitment to store process and understanding how they can impact business efficiency.
- Storytelling & Influence: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences—including senior leadership, vendors, and merchants.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
