Position Summary...
As a Senior Manager, Data Science – Supply Chain Strategy, you will help advance Walmart’s eCommerce fulfillment strategy through high-impact supply chain initiatives focused on transportation, network design, customer speed, and fulfillment cost. You will be expected to leverage AI as a practical enabler to improve speed, quality, and decision-making across analysis, synthesis, and communication.This role is best suited for someone who combines strong supply chain depth with hands-on analytical and modeling capability, and who can connect technical work to practical business decisions. You will go deep on established strategic priorities, build scalable analytical frameworks and modeling approaches, and bring together analytical work, operational inputs, and cross-functional expertise into a coherent long-term fulfillment and transportation strategy.
What you'll do...
What You’ll Do
- Build scalable analytical frameworks and modeling approaches to support long-term fulfillment and transportation strategy.
- Independently extract, manipulate, validate, and analyze data using SQL as part of regular work.
- Build models using Python or similar analytical tools to evaluate fulfillment, transportation, and network design opportunities.
- Apply optimization and network modeling to solve complex supply chain problems tied to speed, cost, and network efficiency.
- Leverage AI to improve speed, quality, and decision-making across analysis, synthesis, and communication.
- Go deep on established strategic priorities and translate analytical insights into practical recommendations that can scale.
- Integrate analytical work, operational inputs, and cross-functional expertise into a coherent eCommerce fulfillment strategy.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution across Transportation, Supply Chain Operations, Marketplace/eCommerce, Technology, and Finance.
- Support capital planning, investment decisions, and business case development tied to strategic supply chain initiatives.
- Communicate analyses and recommendations clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership partners.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong supply chain experience required.
- Experience applying data science, analytics, modeling, optimization, or network design to solve complex business problems.
- Experience in fulfillment, transportation, parcel, or network design environments at scale is strongly preferred.
- Strong SQL skills, with the ability to independently extract, manipulate, and validate data.
- Experience building models using Python or similar analytical tools.
- Experience with optimization and network modeling.
- Track record of building and driving strategic initiatives end to end.
- Ability to connect analytical outputs to operational reality and work effectively with strong operator stakeholders.
- Ability to drive cross-functional alignment and execution through influence, without direct ownership of all resources.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to summarize complex work clearly and practically.
- AI fluency and curiosity, with a practical mindset toward leveraging AI to improve speed, quality, and decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or PhD preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
