What you'll do...
Walmart Global Tech is looking for a Group Director to lead the Enterprise Transformation & Operations organization. This leader connects technology strategy to execution — owning transformation intelligence, portfolio governance, operational standards, and technology cost optimization across EI&S. You will lead a team of approximately 140 across the US and IDC, partnering closely with the Tech Operating Partner, peer VPs, and business stakeholders to keep Walmart’s technology transformation moving with clarity and discipline. What You’ll Do- Drive enterprise transformation strategy — translate Walmart’s technology vision into a clear roadmap, working with the Tech Operating Partner and peer VPs to prioritize investments that move the business forward.
- Build transformation intelligence capability — establish ongoing technology foresight, competitive intelligence, and software rationalization functions that give leadership an informed, forward-looking view.
- Own portfolio governance and annual planning — lead investment planning cycles, portfolio prioritization, and delivery tracking to ensure every initiative is tied to measurable outcomes.
- Lead technology operations and rhythm of business — oversee workforce planning, operational reporting, and tooling that keep the EI&S organization running efficiently.
- Ensure operational reliability and governance — accountable for infrastructure resilience, technology controls, BCDR, and audit readiness across the portfolio.
- Drive technology cost optimization — partner with DTCO and ITCO to identify savings opportunities through software rationalization, vendor strategy, and demand management.
- Develop talent and build team culture — grow a high-performing team with clear accountability, career development, and an environment where people do their best work.
- 15+ years of technology leadership, with meaningful experience leading enterprise transformation or technology strategy at scale.
- Track record of building intelligence and governance functions — planning, portfolio management, and executive-facing programs that actually influence decisions.
- Ability to lead large, distributed organizations across multiple disciplines and geographies.
- Strong executive communication skills — comfortable translating complex technology topics for senior business and technology audiences.
- Experience navigating large, matrixed organizations and influencing outcomes without direct control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business. Advanced degree a plus.
- Experience in technology strategy, portfolio governance, or transformation program leadership in a Fortune 100 environment.
- Familiarity with international technology landscapes and market-level technology standardization.
- Background in M&A technology integration or divestiture support.
- Prior experience in an enterprise Chief of Staff or senior program leadership capacity.

The annual salary range for this position is $195,000.00 - $370,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
