Position Summary...
The Director, Controllership (Walmart International – Global Accounting) is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving consistent, compliant, and high-quality accounting across global markets. This role partners with international teams to strengthen financial reporting, enhance controls, and support business initiatives while influencing enterprise decisions through deep accounting expertise and cross-functional leadership.About the Global Accounting Team
The Global Accounting team partners across international markets to ensure accurate financial reporting, consistent policy application, and strong governance. Working closely with local market controllers and global finance teams, the organization supports business growth through standardized processes, effective controls, and strategic collaboration. This role plays a key part in aligning global practices while addressing market-specific needs.
What you'll do...
- Lead global market engagement by facilitating regular forums, and enabling effective knowledge sharing across Global Accounting, Technical, Consolidation, and in-market teams
- Review monthly and quarterly financial results, identifying risks, ensuring timely issue resolution, and communicating insights to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC requirements, and global accounting policies by reviewing financial data, partnering with local market teams, and reviewing segment level inputs to reporting deliverables
- Drive cross-market initiatives and global projects, including system implementations, new business initiatives, and regulatory changes, by coordinating resources and aligning market and corporate objectives
- Partner with international stakeholders to enhance accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting

- Strong experience with US GAAP, SEC reporting, and global accounting operations across multiple markets or business units
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex accounting topics into clear, actionable insights
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and building partnerships across diverse, global teams
- Experience supporting large-scale transformations, including system implementations, process improvements, or regulatory changes
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
