This role partners closely with segment strategy teams and senior leaders across each pillar to assess performance, align priorities, and drive key tradeoffs. Acting as an independent strategic voice, the Director translates progress against goals into clear enterprise impact—ensuring the company can deliver on both short- and long-term objectives. Success requires strong judgment, data-driven insight, and the ability to influence decisions at the highest levels.

This team plays a vital role in influencing strategic decisions, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and providing thought leadership to support Walmart’s evolving business landscape and sustained success.
What you'll do:
  • Provide an independent, enterprise-wide view of progress against Walmart’s highest-priority initiatives, grounded in data, KPIs, and cross-functional input.
  • Partner with segment strategy teams and senior leaders across pillars to align on priorities, assess performance, and drive critical tradeoffs.
  • Translate progress against goals into clear enterprise impact, ensuring alignment to both short- and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Synthesize complex inputs into concise, executive-ready insights to inform key governance forums and decision-making.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities across the enterprise portfolio, and recommend actions to improve outcomes.
  • Influence senior stakeholders with fact-based perspectives and drive accountability for delivering on strategic commitments.

What you'll bring:
  • Significant experience in corporate strategy, business transformation, or enterprise planning.
  • Proven ability to assess performance against strategic priorities and translate data, KPIs, and business inputs into insights.
  • Strong strategic judgment with a track record of navigating ambiguity, driving tradeoffs, and influencing decisions at senior executive levels.
  • Demonstrated success partnering across functions and business units, including collaboration with senior leaders and strategy teams.
  • Expertise in synthesizing complex information into concise, executive-ready materials that drive alignment and action.
  • Ability to connect short-term performance with long-term strategy, ensuring focus on outcomes that matter most.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to act as an independent, objective voice.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
