Position Summary...
About the team...Our team manages eCommerce, intellectual property, and Prop 65 litigation matters, including pre-litigation and active cases. We collaborate closely with business partners to provide legal guidance aligned with company objectives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The team supports risk management and corporate governance while leading cross-functional initiatives. Members contribute to developing strategies, conducting legal research, and overseeing regulatory compliance. This group fosters a professional environment focused on delivering sound legal counsel and effective solutions to support business goals and maintain operational integrity.
What you'll do...
- Develop litigation and pre‑litigation strategies for disputes involving Walmart Marketplace.
- Manage intellectual property litigation and pre-litigation, including patent, copyright and trademark matters.
- Handle California Proposition 65 and other transparency‑related litigation and pre‑litigation matters, including evaluation of claims, responses, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Retain and manage qualified outside counsel and ensuring alignment on strategy and positioning.
- Set budgets and closely manage litigation expenses.
- Provide actionable, clear, and timely advice to internal business, technology, and compliance partners.
- Recognize operational and legal risks and work with stakeholders to remediate them proactively.
- Identify emerging trends across matters and ensure consistency of legal positions.
- At least three years of litigation experience, including experience handling complex commercial, intellectual property, Prop 65, Marketplace, or technology‑related disputes.
- Subject matter experience with intellectual property litigation, Prop 65 or Marketplace.
- Experience managing threatened litigation and pre‑litigation disputes, including demand letters and early resolution strategies.
- Thought leadership thinking critically about the law, staying abreast of changes in the legal landscape, and contributing meaningfully to legal discourse.
- The ability to communicate complicated legal principles in a way that is easily understood and delivers decisive advice that can be acted upon by busy non‑lawyers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a strong emphasis on team collaboration.
- Excellent legal writing with strong analytical skills.
- Consistent good judgment and keen litigation instincts.
- Process‑mindedness having implemented solutions to streamline litigation management.
- Friendliness and collaboration with a sense of humor.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
