Position Summary...
As a Staff Software Engineer on Walmart’s US Omni Tech team, you will lead the design and delivery of cloud‑native, scalable platform capabilities that power Walmart’s Real Estate, Energy, IoT, Digital Twin, EV Charging, and renewable energy ecosystems. You’ll drive end‑to‑end engineering—from architectural vision through implementation—while integrating AI/ML to improve efficiency, sustainability, and intelligent facility operations at massive scale.You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and partner with product, data, and business teams to translate complex challenges into high‑impact, enterprise‑wide solutions. Your expertise will elevate developer productivity, shape platform strategy, and influence how thousands of Walmart locations are built, managed, and optimized. Define long-term technical strategy. - Walmart’s Digital Twin ecosystem for simulation and scenario planning.
- Real Estate planning and construction platforms for efficient store builds and remodels.
- Nationwide EV charging network platforms for seamless customer experience.
- Renewable energy management systems for solar, storage, and emerging clean‑energy tech.
- Deliver scalable platform capabilities across infrastructure, tooling, developer experience, and ML frameworks.
- Lead full SDLC: design, coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Architect cloud‑native, resilient systems using microservices and containerization.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure architectural alignment.
- Build AI‑driven applications with integrated ML components.
- Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence through documentation and standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, success metrics, and outcomes.
- Expertise in cloud‑native architecture: microservices, containers, orchestration, automation.
- Strong skills in software design patterns, API design, and platform engineering.
- Experience with full SDLC, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
- Ability to integrate AI/ML components using Python, JavaScript, C++, Java.
- Strong debugging, optimization, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
- Effective mentorship and technical leadership.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, HPC, and fault‑tolerant design.
- Strong database internals knowledge for SQL/NoSQL tuning and storage design.
- Expertise in security‑first engineering and threat modeling.
- Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, queues) and async processing.
- Proficiency with Cloud infrastructure and cloud automation.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
