Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software solutions for small to large projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop code, perform testing, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications. The position requires technical expertise in programming, continuous integration, and problem-solving, along with the ability to support and guide junior engineers. The successful candidate will drive project success by delivering timely, effective solutions aligned with business objectives.
About the team:
The SiteTraffic360 team delivers essential data engineering solutions supporting analytics, performance, and advertising data needs. The team leads initiatives such as Traffic Instrumentation Standardization & Automation, TrafficSense Portal, and GenAI feature launches. Members collaborate to build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and apply advanced data transformation and modeling techniques. Utilizing big data technologies like Apache Spark and Kafka, the team enables efficient data integration and processing. Their work drives business goals and enhances data-driven decision-making across multiple domains, fostering innovation and operational excellence.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality code following coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
- Lead small to medium-sized projects by translating requirements into technical deliverables and ensuring timely completion.
- Support continuous integration and delivery by automating routine tasks and implementing telemetry features.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and documentation.
- Monitor application performance and implement maintenance and enhancements to ensure reliability.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and Java development within complex software environments.
- Strong technical acumen in platform design, API development, and component services.
- Proven expertise in Big Data, Hadoop and Apache Spark
- Experience with iterative and incremental development methodologies and continuous integration/delivery practices.
- Strong Experience in GraphQL
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Skilled in writing clear, documentation-based code and performing comprehensive unit and regression testing.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Sunnyvale, California US-11657: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
