The Director, Communications - Owned Website & Email for Walmart’s Global Communication team leads the strategy, standards, and operating system for Walmart’s connected owned-channel ecosystem—spanning external corporate web and internal communications channels including C-Suite internal email, the company intranet, and internal two-way engagement platform. This role ensures Walmart’s most important narratives are clear, consistent, timely, and channel-right, with a unified approach to message architecture, publishing governance, audience targeting, and measurement. The outcome is a modern digital ecosystem that builds trust externally while strengthening alignment and engagement internally.

What you'll do...
- Own the connected ecosystem strategy (internal + external): Define channel roles, content types, and how messages and stories flow across web, email, intranet, and further internal communications channels—creating cohesive journeys from announcement moments to evergreen hubs.
- Lead corporate web publishing + narrative clarity (external): Set editorial direction, templates/page types, governance, and lifecycle standards; translate enterprise priorities into clear, credible messaging frameworks (proof points, FAQs, explainers).
- Lead C-Suite internal email strategy (internal): Establish voice, cadence, structure, segmentation, and approval pathways for executive communications; create repeatable playbooks for high-stakes moments to drive clarity and trust.
- Own intranet strategy + governance (internal): Improve findability and usefulness through taxonomy, navigation, “single source of truth” hub design, content standards, and lifecycle practices (audits, updates, sunsetting).
- Build operating rhythm + cross-functional alignment: Partner with Communications, People, Legal, and business teams to create predictable workflows, rapid-response protocols, and shared toolkits/templates that raise quality at scale.
- Drive measurement and optimization: Define KPIs across channels; build dashboards and insight cadences; test and iterate on content structures, subject lines, formats, and posting patterns to improve outcomes.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team: Coach channel leads and web editors, set clear expectations, and strengthen craft and operational excellence.
- Steward AI adoption across owned-channel ecosystem: Establish practical, governed ways to use AI to accelerate drafting, editing, summarization, versioning, and repurposing across web, email, intranet, and other platforms—while protecting accuracy, confidentiality, and Walmart’s voice through clear guardrails, review workflows, and training.
What You’ll Bring
- Established experience leading teams responsible for in digital content strategy, tool and platform leadership, digital publishing, corporate communications, and/or internal communications;
- Proven ability to build content systems (governance, workflows, standards, lifecycle management) that increase speed and quality without sacrificing accuracy.
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment—able to distill complex topics into clear, confident, human communication for varied audiences.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel ecosystems (web + email + internal platforms) with strong channel strategy and message architecture.
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional partners (Comms, People, Legal, business leaders, product/CMS teams) and comfort operating in high-stakes, high-visibility moments.
- Data-informed mindset: ability to define success metrics, interpret performance signals, and drive continuous improvement.
- Preferred: experience with two-way internal comms/community management and modern intranet practices (taxonomy, governance, search/findability).
- A high-judgment, people-first leadership style with modern content fluency: Proven ability to lead teams through change, build trust with senior stakeholders, and raise quality at scale—paired with hands-on familiarity using AI-enabled tools to improve content operations without compromising authenticity, clarity, or credibility.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
