Role Summary
This role will serve as a pillar for Walmart’s external data ecosystem, sitting at the intersection of Walmart Data Ventures (DV) product, third‑party data providers, and cross‑functional internal stakeholders. The position is responsible for end‑to‑end governance, contract ownership, operational execution, and strategic evolution of external data partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Ownership & Relationship Management
- Act as the day‑to‑day owner of Walmart Data Ventures’ external third-party data ecosystem, with responsibility for relationship health, issue resolution, and ongoing alignment to Walmart priorities.
- Serve as the central point of accountability for all inbound and outbound engagement related to third-party data, reducing fragmentation and conflicting ownership.
- Lead discussions on scope expansion, data delivery expectations, operational changes, and future opportunities as Walmart’s data strategy evolves.
End‑to‑End Contract & Governance Ownership
- Own third-party data contracts from inception through execution and renewal, including:
- Governance and access models
- Pricing and commercial terms
- Data security and compliance requirements
- Operational execution and SLAs
- Ongoing contract interpretation and enforcement
- Ensure all third-party agreements align with Walmart Data Ventures standards, third‑party governance principles, and enterprise data policies, consistent with broader 3P strategy frameworks.
Revenue & Commercial Model Ownership
- Own revenue share models embedded within third-party data contracts, ensuring:
- Accurate execution and reporting
- Alignment to Walmart’s broader monetization strategy
- Transparency across internal stakeholders
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and DV leadership to evolve revenue structures as third-party data becomes more deeply integrated into product offerings and client solutions.
- Support identification and activation of new revenue opportunities within the third-party data ecosystem, consistent with internal strategy objectives.
Product & Data Quality Partnership
- Sit at the intersection of DV Product and third-party data companies, ensuring:
- Accurate and timely data delivery
- Alignment between contractual commitments and product capabilities
- Rapid escalation and resolution of data quality or availability issues
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure data is delivered in a way that supports scalable, repeatable, and monetizable solutions.
Future‑State Evolution & Centralization
- Lead the progressive centralization of third-party data responsibilities as work transitions from other internal teams into a single, accountable owner.
- Continuously assess gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in current operating models and drive improvements to governance, tooling, and execution.
- Establish this role as the long‑term owner of third-party data partnerships, capable of scaling as new partners, products, and use cases are introduced.
What you'll bring...
- Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, business, operations, analytics, supply chain, or related field.
- Extensive eperience in merchandising, relationship management, third-party data
- Experience improving or scaling operational workflows or governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using workflow tools (ServiceNow, Salesforce, Airtable) and Excel/Sheets.
- Ability to simplify complex requirements and communicate clearly across teams.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills with experience supporting cross-functional initiatives.
- Self-starter with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred qualifications...
- Experience in data, SaaS, analytics, retail technology, or ad-tech environments.
- Understanding of vendor onboarding, data governance, third-party risk, or supplier management processes.
- Understanding of merchandising process and how data is used to grow retailer businesses
- Experience facilitating business reviews or producing insight-based recommendations for leadership.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
