About the team:The Systems and Infrastructure Engineering - VDI team manages Walmart’s global cloud and virtual desktop environments, designing scalable and secure virtual desktop infrastructure across platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, Citrix, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft AVD. Collaborating with international vendors and stakeholders, the team implements advanced technologies to ensure reliable, efficient access for associates and partners worldwide. Their work supports operational excellence by enhancing productivity and maintaining secure digital workspaces, contributing to Walmart’s ongoing technological advancement on a global scale.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, patch management, and hot fixes, to ensure infrastructure reliability.
- Automate repetitive processes using configuration management and scripting tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, optimizing resource utilization to address evolving business requirements.
- Support cloud migration initiatives, including data center consolidation and hybrid environment management.
- Manage configuration, version control, and systems integration for seamless application and infrastructure operations.
- Design and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
- Implement and support virtual application technologies to enable secure access for remote associates and partners.
- Analyze and resolve infrastructure issues, escalating as necessary to ensure continuous service.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience with VDI technologies, mainly Azure Virtual Desktop and Omnissa (VMware) Horizon
- Experience with cloud migration, data center operations, and hybrid or full cloud environment management.
- Strong knowledge of cloud engineering, cloud migration, and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- Proven expertise in infrastructure maintenance, including backups, patch management, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in configuration and version control management ensuring accurate deployment and release processes.
- Ability to design scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Skilled in issue resolution, capacity planning, and integration management using middleware and APIs.
- Commitment to applying coding standards and security policies in development and automation tasks.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
