About the team:
The team plays a vital role in managing merchandise flow, from receiving and delivering products to merchants, to building and relocating fixtures, and pricing items for the Associate store. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and organized work environment, operating equipment such as forklifts, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. Team members collaborate closely to ensure accuracy and efficiency while upholding ethical standards and company policies. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork to support smooth operations within the Walmart Layout Center.
What you'll do:
- Assist in removing released merchandise by pulling and staging pallets for associate stores, ensuring accuracy and proper shipment.
- Provide customer service to suppliers, buyers, and associates by assisting with deliveries, locating lost merchandise, and addressing shipping inquiries.
- Build and dismantle fixtures, prepare for line reviews, and maintain proper signage on steel.
- Operate power equipment safely, maintain security, and monitor supplier activity within designated areas.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including organizing, sweeping, and managing recycling and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks, communicate progress, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in inventory management and shipping and receiving operations.
- Forklift certification with the ability to safely operate power equipment and pallet riders.
- Strong customer service skills to assist suppliers, buyers, and associates effectively.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety compliance procedures.
- Knowledge of company policies and ethical standards, ensuring integrity and accountability in all tasks.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to support team objectives and resolve issues.
- Detail-oriented approach to managing merchandise staging, fixture setup, and signage maintenance.

The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 - $28.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
