Position Summary...
Join Walmart as a Senior Manager, Finance supporting the Consumables Merchandising Strategy team and play a key role in driving financial performance across essential, high-volume categories. In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor to merchandising leadership, leveraging data-driven insights, financial modeling, and business planning to influence decisions that impact growth, profitability, and customer value. You will help shape and execute strategic initiatives across the Consumables business—balancing top-line growth, cost discipline, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment.About the Team
The Merchandise Finance and Strategy team is a group of trusted advisors focused on enabling strong financial performance through strategic planning, analytics, and decision support. Within Consumables, we operate at the intersection of merchandising, operations, and finance—providing insights that drive growth, improve execution, and strengthen financial discipline across categories.
What you'll do...
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to Consumables Merchandising, applying analytics and business acumen to influence key decisions and drive cross-functional outcomes.
- Build and maintain advanced financial models that evaluate business scenarios, incorporating key assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead financial planning and forecasting processes, analyzing performance trends and recommending actions to optimize sales, margin, and expenses.
- Develop clear, executive-ready insights and presentations to communicate forecasts, business performance, and key variances to senior leadership.
- Identify growth opportunities and solve complex business challenges through data-driven insights and strategic analysis.
- Strengthen financial controls and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, transparency, and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement by leveraging technology, automation, and new ways of working to modernize FP&A processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across merchandising, supply chain, and operations to align on priorities and accelerate decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4+ years of experience (or 6+ years relevant experience); MBA preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with advanced analytical and modeling capabilities.
- Experience supporting high-volume, fast-paced businesses such as retail, CPG, or consumables.
- Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple functions, including senior leadership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling insights and storytelling.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing competing priorities effectively.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a results-oriented mindset with a sense of ownership and urgency.
- Leadership presence with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
