What you'll do...
About the Role The Staff Product Manager is an individual contributor responsible for leading enterprise‑scale inbound transportation platform capabilities, enabling reliable and scalable flow from order creation through downstream planning and execution. The role owns core tools used to configure and operate the optimization engine and simulation platform. The role also owns foundational TMS services such as Carrier Capacity as a Service (CCaaS) and Transit as a Service (TRaaS)—critical capabilities replacing legacy and fragmented processes in TMS. This position partners closely with business, operations, engineering, data science, and UX to drive roadmap alignment, lead experimentation, operationalize AI‑enabled capabilities from concept through production, and ensure production stability, delivering measurable improvements in transportation cost, on‑time delivery, and operational efficiency. About the Team You will be part of the Inbound Transportation product organization, overseeing freight flow across Walmart for domestic and import dray transportation. The team owns capabilities that plan, optimize, and execute the movement of purchase orders from suppliers and ports into Walmart facilities. This includes shipment creation, load planning, execution, scheduling, and exception management - all operating at enterprise scale and tightly integrated with upstream order management and downstream execution systems. The focus is on delivering foundational, AI‑driven services and scalable integrations that standardize decision‑making, increase planning precision, and drive consistent execution across the inbound transportation portfolio - while upholding rigorous standards for platform health and operational excellence.
