Position Summary...
As a Senior Manager, Data Analytics – Marketplace Payments, you will lead advanced analytics and quantitative risk modeling efforts for Marketplace seller payments and financial services. This role focuses on building and scaling predictive and statistical models across payments, credit, and fraud, while driving data-informed decision-making to improve operational performance and seller financial outcomes.This is a hands-on, senior-level role for an experienced analytics professional who can solve complex financial risk problems at scale and provide strong technical leadership in advanced analytics with a strong focus on data science.
What you'll do...
- Develop and enhance predictive and statistical models to assess seller risk, credit exposure, fraud, reserves, and negative balances
- Lead end-to-end analytics for initiatives such as seller lending, payout optimization, cash-flow management, and Marketplace financial services
- Apply advanced statistical methods to large, complex datasets across payments, orders, fulfillment, and shipments to solve risk and financial performance challenges
- Build scalable risk frameworks and translate analytical insights into clear decision rules and automated controls
- Establish strong model validation and monitoring practices to ensure performance, stability, and accuracy
- Create dashboards and reporting to track risk trends, losses, model performance, and payments SLAs
- Identify and integrate high-impact data sources to strengthen risk signals and improve model effectiveness
- Optimize key metrics such as loss rates, false positives, reserve coverage, and operational efficiency through structured testing and analysis
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Trust & Safety, Seller Risk & Performance, Finance, and Treasury to influence the payments analytics roadmap
- Contribute to a high-performing analytics team by upholding strong standards of statistical rigor and execution
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business Analytics, or related) with 4+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics; or Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience leading end-to-end advanced analytics or data science projects, experience developing and validating predictive or statistical models preferred
- Domain experience in payments, marketplace, eCommerce, financial services, credit risk, fraud, or risk analytics
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets and proficiency in Python (or similar) for data analysis and statistical modeling; experience with Spark or Hive preferred
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environment

Sunnyvale, California US-11789: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
