Merchant - RV Accessories and AntifreezeThe Merchant is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive business growth and profitability within a moderately complex category. This role oversees pricing, promotion, supplier negotiations, and financial management while collaborating cross-functionally to align channel strategies and optimize customer experience. The Merchant leads a team to achieve operational excellence, leveraging data insights to inform decisions and continuously improve performance. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage supplier relationships to support Walmart’s commitment to delivering value and exceptional service to customers.
About the team:
The team focuses on merchandising and purchasing for RV accessories and automotive coolant, driving category strategy and financial management to meet business goals. They collaborate across functions to optimize supplier relationships, pricing, and inventory decisions. Emphasizing data-driven insights and customer-centric approaches, the team supports execution of strategic initiatives and promotional activities. Members are committed to continuous improvement, effective decision-making, and developing talent through coaching and performance management. This group plays a key role in delivering value by aligning category plans with operational priorities and fostering a results-oriented, professional work environment.
What you'll do...
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, incorporating market trends and customer insights.
- Manage profit and loss responsibilities, including pricing, promotions, and inventory decisions to meet financial targets.
- Lead supplier negotiations, establish performance metrics, and oversee supplier relationships to ensure optimal execution.
- Drive channel strategy decisions and collaborate with supply chain partners to optimize product availability and customer experience.
- Supervise and develop team members, setting performance expectations and fostering professional growth.
- Utilize data analysis to inform decisions, improve category performance, and support digital initiatives.
- Oversee modular assortment planning, product setup, and promotional feature execution across channels.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in category strategy development and execution for moderately complex categories.
- Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and forecasting.
- Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decisions.
- Expertise in supplier management, including negotiation and performance tracking.
- Demonstrated team management capabilities with a focus on coaching and development.
- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to drive strategic initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
