Group Director, Software Engineering — Vizio Integration
Role Overview
The Group Director, Software Engineering — Vizio Integration is responsible for defining and scaling the technology platforms that enable Walmart Connect’s offsite media and CTV capabilities. This leader sets the long-term engineering vision and platform strategy supporting offsite media and connected TV integrations, including VIZIO, ensuring scalable architecture, platform resilience, and measurable system performance at enterprise scale. This role operates at the intersection of platform engineering, distributed systems, data platforms, and partner integrations. The Group Director creates clarity on technical priorities, architectural tradeoffs, and execution sequencing across a complex ecosystem while ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and extensibility. The role drives differentiated platform capability through engineering excellence, data integration, measurement infrastructure, and closed-loop system design.
Strategic Engineering Leadership
- Define and own the long-term engineering vision and platform strategy supporting offsite media and CTV integrations.
- Lead large engineering organizations to build scalable, resilient, cloud-native platforms powered by AI/ML and data-driven decisioning.
- Translate enterprise technology strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps and execution plans.
- Drive platform thinking to enable reuse, extensibility, and global scale.
- Guide adoption of modern frameworks, experimentation environments, and platform capabilities to accelerate innovation.
Platform & Technical Execution
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle including CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, testing, and performance optimization.
- Drive DevOps maturity, cloud efficiency, and reduction of operational toil.
- Implement software rationalization and AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve delivery speed and quality.
- Establish platform SLAs, reliability targets, and operational excellence standards.
Architecture & System Design
- Architect scalable, distributed systems aligned with long-term enterprise architecture goals.
- Lead architectural reviews, decision frameworks, and system design governance.
- Apply modern architecture principles including event-driven design, model-driven architecture, and resilient platform patterns.
- Ensure secure, privacy-aware, and compliant system design.
Data, Measurement & Platform Intelligence
- Build robust data pipelines and measurement infrastructure to enable system observability and closed-loop performance insights.
- Enable real-time decisioning, telemetry, and platform intelligence capabilities.
- Partner with data and ML teams to integrate intelligent automation and optimization.
Talent & Engineering Excellence
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering leaders and teams.
- Establish a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop deep technical pipelines through sponsorship, coaching, and growth opportunities.
- Promote engineering thought leadership and technical community engagement.
Stakeholder & Portfolio Alignment
- Align platform engineering execution with enterprise technology priorities.
- Manage engineering capacity, roadmaps, and milestone delivery across platform domains.
- Partner with product, data, ML, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-impact technology capabilities.
- Serve as the technical connector across partner integration ecosystems.
Technical Ownership & Judgment
- Ensure solutions meet scalability, reliability, security, and performance standards.
- Make sound technical decisions balancing tradeoffs and long-term platform sustainability.
- Drive resolution of systemic technical challenges and platform risks.

The annual salary range for this position is $195,000.00 - $370,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.Option 2: 10 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
