Position Summary...
Are you passionate about turning customer insight into clear business action? Do you thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments—where the questions evolve, the stakes are high, and your work directly influences enterprise strategy? As a Sr. Manager, Customer Insights, you’ll lead foundational research that informs senior leadership, often partnering with leaders across Insights, Marketing, and other enterprise stakeholders, including high-visibility audiences. This role blends rigorous qualitative and quantitative research with strategic consulting and standout storytelling. You’ll translate complex data into crisp, actionable recommendations that shape decisions across marketing, communications, stores, assortment, and brand experience.
This is not a heads-down analytics role. It’s a high-impact, high-visibility position where agility, resilience, and executive-ready communication matter as much as methodological strength.
What you'll do...
- Lead end-to-end research projects: from scoping and methodology selection to analysis and executive-ready delivery.
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative studies, including discussion guides, surveys, fieldwork oversight, and data interpretation.
- Act as a strategic consultant, translating insights into clear business actions and helping leaders understand implications and next steps.
- Influence and align senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity on objectives, timelines, expectations, and decisions throughout each project.
- Synthesize insights across sources (trackers, diagnostics, market signals, competitive intel) to build cohesive, enterprise-level narratives.
- Elevate storytelling, crafting simple, compelling narratives that make complex data accessible and actionable for executive audiences.
- Manage vendor partners, setting standards for quality, timelines, and deliverables while driving efficient ways of working.
- Operate with agility and urgency, adapting quickly to evolving leadership priorities and delivering high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
- 7+ years of experience leading customer/consumer insights work in retail, eCommerce, CPG, consulting, or a research firm.
- Hands-on qualitative and quantitative research expertise across study design, recruiting/fieldwork oversight, survey design, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven experience running surveys and managing research vendors for quantitative projects.
- Strong ability to synthesize data into actionable business narratives and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills—comfortable partnering with and influencing senior leaders.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (data analysis, visualization, and storytelling).
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (market research, business, psychology, sociology, or related field).
- Experience thriving in fast-changing, ambiguous environments with a strong bias for action.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines across multiple workstreams.
- Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills (clear POV, crisp writing, confident presentation).
- Experience with Tableau (or similar dashboard tools) and data visualization best practices.
- Prior experience helping to build, scale, or contribute to a Center of Excellence (COE) or enterprise insights function.
- Experience working directly with C‑Suite / SVP-level stakeholders or similarly high-visibility environments.
- Background in brand strategy or enterprise-level insights.
