Position Summary
As the Senior Manager, Data Governance and Program Management, you will lead the development and execution of robust data governance frameworks and oversee critical data-driven programs across the Walmart Sourcing organization. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, quality, compliance, and usability to power business insights and strategic decision-making. Your leadership will drive cross-functional alignment, operational excellence, and a culture of data stewardship.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Data Governance Strategy: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance across the Sourcing organization.
- Program Management: Oversee and deliver large-scale data and analytics programs, ensuring alignment with business goals, milestones, and budget requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, IT, analytics, legal, compliance, and external partners to define data requirements, resolve issues, and drive the adoption of governance best practices.
- Data Quality & Stewardship: Establish processes for data cataloging, data lineage, metadata management, and data stewardship. Monitor and report on data quality metrics and remediation plans.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations relating to data privacy, security, and usage.
- Change Management: Lead organizational change efforts to foster a data-driven culture, ensuring effective communication, training, and support for data governance initiatives.
- Reporting & Analytics: Provide executive-level reporting on program status, risks, and outcomes. Enable business users’ access to trusted data and insights.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, or program management, preferably in a large, complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scale data initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM), and data lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with data management technologies (e.g., Collibra, or similar).
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent project/program management skills, with experience using methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, propose data-driven solutions, and drive execution.
- Experience in retail, sourcing, supply chain, or procurement data environments is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MBA, MIS, or related field).
- Certifications in Data Governance (e.g., CDMP), PMP, or Agile methodologies.
- Experience working in a global matrixed organization.
- Familiarity with Walmart’s data and analytics platforms is a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
