What you'll do...
Walmart is focused on shaping strategies to exceed our customers’ expectations and become the first choice for everything our they need, however they want to shop. As the Senior Manager of Customer & Competitive Intelligence at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in understanding the Walmart customer. This position requires the ability to distill and deliver insights that help drive both strategy and execution. Core responsibilities of the role include conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, and analyzing & synthesizing data into valuable brand & customer insights that inform our marketing and customer engagement efforts.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Managing multiple cross-functional research and analytics projects that support our Customer Insights and Strategy team
- Exhibiting strong research acumen across the various methodologies, understanding how insights can most effectively inform strategies and optimizations.
- Leading campaign measurement studies across the creative lifecycle, including tracking and analyzing ad performance of Linear TV, Broadband/Streaming, Online Video, and Social.
- Synthesizing research and analytical findings to present clear, actionable recommendations to inform campaign strategies and investments.
- Identifying best practices and principles that can be leveraged for future campaign and creative development.
- Translating complex models, methodologies, and analytics into simple and actionable output.
- Leveraging your thought leadership skills to identify, plan, and prioritize primary research for potential optimizations.
- Effectively managing external research vendors, ensuring that deliverables are aligned with timelines and learning objectives.
- Clearly and confidently presenting findings to senior leadership, demonstrating strong storytelling skills to convey complex information effectively, and possessing the emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive findings with empathy.
- Contributing to a high-performance culture delivering multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Providing guidance on optimal data sources and efficient methods to gather complex and appropriate data sets for analysis.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, leadership, cross-functional teams, and external business partners/ vendors to develop consultative solutions for medium to large projects.
- Ensuring business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans and initiatives; and soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications...
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Research, or related field required (Graduate degree preferred)
- 7+ years of work experience in Marketing Research or Consumer Insights
- Strong knowledge of qualitative, quantitative, syndicated and first party search tools
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, research design, and defining and evaluating business KPIs
- Excellent analytic problem and critical-thinking skills
- Deep knowledge of the retail industry marketplace dynamics and trends influencing change
- Outstanding written communication and story-telling skills
- Ability to deliver and thrive under tight deadlines
- Adaptable and can work confidently amidst ambiguity, uncertainty, and/or when direction has changed
- Excellent project management skills, in a face-paced environment, with proven ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
