Position Summary...

Walmart Global Communications is seeking a visionary, experienced leader to power communication strategy with technology, working to identify, synthesize and tackle problems end-to-end across multiple stakeholders and touchpoints to optimize delivery of Walmart’s key messages internally and externally. This role will continuously modernize Walmart’s enterprise communication platforms and processes, interfacing with technology partners to bring new and innovative content experiences and capabilities to life. This critical leadership function requires a pulse on the latest trends, communication insights and emerging technology to help Walmart's story break through, whether through our owned channels, earned media processes or live event experiences.

As a key technology leader working inside Global Communications, you’ll use communication insights to collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product and engineering teams to develop and deliver a vision for a consumer-grade experience across owned corporate communication channels. You’ll enable best-in-class content delivery capabilities across a variety of digital mediums (web, native apps, email, digital screens). You’ll also drive technology optimizations within ancillary workstreams, including but not limited to Walmart corporate events, media relations, translation, search and analytics. This role will be a key driver of innovation, identifying new ways to use Generative AI to unleash more efficiency, creativity and results across our organization.

What you'll do...

Vision and Strategy

  • Develop and implement technology strategies that align with Global Communications objectives.

  • Lead research and analysis of emerging technologies, including their potential applications and benefits for Global Communications process efficiency and content delivery.

  • Co-develop and manage the Global Communications technology strategy roadmap, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders and technology partners.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Transform communication goals into resonant, compelling narratives that result in short and long-term strategic plans and technology roadmaps.

  • Act as a product leader within Global Communications, identifying root problems and leading colleagues to strategic, holistic solutions.

  • Engage with senior leaders across Corporate Affairs, Global Tech and other business areas to align priorities and drive initiatives.

Technology Optimization and Innovation

  • Translate Global Communication objectives into inventive, tech-powered content experiences.

  • Drive continuous improvements in core communication technology processes and tools to enhance Global Communications’ efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Continually identify ways to deploy Generative AI for enhancing content creation, efficiency and engagement.

Talent Development and Leadership

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of content technology experts across a variety of specialties: engineering, UI/UX design, search and program management.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

What you’ll bring:

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in communication or technology roles.

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of corporate operations, business strategy and financial and technology management.

  • Experience working for a large organization or Fortune 500 company in a communications, technology or otherwise adjacent leadership role.

Competencies:

  • Strategic leadership: ability to lead and inspire teams, driving innovation and excellence against goals.

  • Problem solving: strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex technology issues.

  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across matrixed functions and teams.

  • Technical expertise: Deep understanding of digital communication platforms and related systems.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
