Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this role will lead and evolve the Product Operations function at Sam’s Club. Key responsibilities include Propel ownership — our internal product managing roadmap intake, enrichment, and enablement — annual planning, strategic initiative ownership, and the development of PM training and support. This high-impact role is critical to how we align, operate, and deliver product value at scale.
Defines long-term vision and product strategy for multiple, more complex product families by collaborating to develop long-term corporate financial
plans; developing and delivering on the financial plan for area of responsibility; capitalizing on domain expertise; leveraging internal and external best
practices and standards to drive decision making; identifying and anticipating market opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of the market
and competition; overseeing the execution of competitive assessments, driving innovation; approving business cases; prioritizing and allocating
resources; and approving objectives and key performance indicators.
Develops and enhances multiple, more complex product families by identifying and adopting emerging technology; collaborating with senior
leadership to ensure alignment between roadmap and business strategies; developing and managing roadmaps across product areas; navigating
ambiguous business challenges; identifying high impact and return on investment opportunities; turning customer insights into actionable priorities
and initiatives; drawing insights from benchmark studies and industry leaders to inform roadmaps and strategies; overseeing the development of user
and business acceptance criteria and product roll out strategy; managing risks and dependencies; and prioritizing product backlog.
Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with key partners (for example, business leaders, User Experience, Engineering, Analytics) by driving
priorities across business pillars and role modeling transparency; communicating product roadmaps and priorities; collaborating across product areas
for roadmap prioritization; engaging with key partners to determine the best product and business strategies; and gaining buy-in from executive-level
leadership.
In-Depth Domain Expertise: Requires knowledge of: Domain-specific methodologies, tools, and processes; Domain-specific products; Domain specific
best practices; Domain-specific market standards in product/platform architecture To demonstrate awareness of various principles, ways of
working, and terminologies across a domain. Compares and contrasts the latest developments and emerging trends and issues in a domain.

Driving Customer/ Client Needs: Requires knowledge of: Customer and business problems; Design thinking; Dependencies and impacts on
product processes/ways of working; Journey mapping; Process optimization; Communication and influencing techniques. To drive a culture to
understand and address customization needs based on functional requirements. Enables the creation of an ecosystem that identifies and addresses
unmet customer needs.
Product Vision and Strategy: Requires knowledge of: Problem formulation and solutioning; Hypothesis framing; Business strategies; Business
management practices across multiple domains; Customer segments and needs; Domain-specific knowledge; "Go to Market" strategies; Industry,
environmental, and economic factors and competitors; Product discovery process, product vision, product strategy and challenges; Rapid prototyping
and Lean experimentation methodologies; Concepts of "First Principle," "Whole Product," and "Crossing the Chasm". To own multiple complex
customer problem/needs. Promotes and drives value creation in evergreen and new areas using "Whole Product" concepts. Drives the product
discovery process to improve product success. Creates guidelines for validation at different levels (for example, product, problem, user). Promotes
strategies and vision and impacts on various related products. Provides guidance in creating "Go-to-Market" strategies by considering relevant user
segments and ensuring mass adoption.
Product Roadmap and Development: Requires knowledge of: Product roadmap development techniques; Roadmap presentation; Roadmap
features and items; Project management techniques; Modern business practice (for example, Agile methodologies, Scrum); Minimum Viable Product
(MVP) creation; Product development lifecycles; Product development concepts (for example, "Crossing the Chasm") To own roadmaps of multiple
complex product lines/product families and works with leadership to ensure alignment with overall business strategy. Creates strategies/processes
that drive compliance and ethical norms. Addresses external/market constraints. Reviews and updates PM processes to formalize expectations.
Oversees MVP and final product rollout and scaling processes.
Data Driven Product Decisions: Requires knowledge of: Product and feature analytics; Data analysis tools and techniques; Research for analysis
activities; Documentation procedures (for example, data logs); Modern industry practices and emerging trends. To extract insights and promote the
value of insight extraction from complex data analytics. Guides and extracts relevant data to drive effective product decisions. Demonstrates
awareness of best practices in insight extraction from databases techniques. Independently drives product/feature analytics.
