Position: Manager, Finance
Job Location: 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72716
Duties: Provides strategic input to the financial planning process by preparing financial analysis and modeling; recommending future expense targets; and planning and analyzing business performance in partnership with cross-functional areas. Communicates with functional areas to understand significant variations; documenting and preparing results for presentation; and providing follow-up or answering any questions regarding financial issues. Manages complex control structures to mitigate risk of financial misstatement by examining and monitoring at different stages; participating on cross functional teams to develop new processes; ensuring proper controls are present in new and existing financial functions; and working to enhance reporting transparency of company financial systems. Manages input for business decisions by producing financial models that incorporate assumptions, expectations, and known risks; preparing presentations and other supporting materials for recommendations; participating in business case presentations to senior and executive management; and communicating forecasts, assumptions, and variances to senior management. Collaborates with senior management to plan and analyze business performance by identifying gaps between business goals and corporate objectives; providing feedback to management regarding risks associated with financial projects; supporting business unit budget process; and providing insight on relevant historical trends, expected future events, and retail trends.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or a related field plus 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related experience OR 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related experience.
Skills required: Must have experience with: VBA coding capable of automating data capture, data cleansing, and analysis; Statistical analysis using a combination of regression analysis, time series analysis, and descriptive statistics to discern relationships between various business metrics; designing complex systems (operational and financial) using knowledge of system dependencies, interfaces, architecture, and control theory; Scenario planning and analysis using Game Theory, sensitivity modeling, and stress testing using Monte Carlo analysis; Financial modeling using advanced Excel functions, model structuring, and model validation (Parameter Calibration, Reverse Stress Testing); Risk assessment using Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Event Tree Analysis, and cause and effect analysis; Cost reduction and efficiency enhancement using workflow optimization techniques such as process mapping (Value Stream Mapping (VSM)) and process standardization (Gemba Walks, Poka-Yoke, Theory of Constraints); Conducting valuation analysis using a combination of discounted cash flow analysis and real options analysis (Black-Scholes model, Binomial Lattice Model); Industry research using value chain analysis and competitor analysis (benchmarking, market share evaluation, technological capability assessment); Financial statement analysis using ratio analysis, horizontal analysis, vertical analysis, and cash flow analysis; FP&A using forecasting tools (econometric forecasting), and variance analysis (variance decomposition, trend analysis); capital budgeting and expenditure analysis using NPV, IRR, payback periods, breakeven analysis, and cost-volume-profit analysis; Market research, using knowledge of behavioral economics, pricing strategies (Value-Based Pricing, Bundle Pricing) and customer lifetime value analysis (CLV); and using financial reports and knowledge of accounting principles and standards to assess financial health and performance of an entity (GAAP, IFRS).
