About the Role:

Sam’s Club is Member obsessed and growing fast. Increasing our Membership base sits at the core of the company’s growth, and we’re searching for a Senior Director of Membership Growth to lead Membership performance and Membership strategy in a way that will continue to increase membership at a blistering pace for years to come. Everything starts with Membership at Sam’s Club, and we’re looking for a talented leader to sit at the heart of driving membership growth at one of the fastest growing, most loved and most trusted memberships in retail.

What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the VP of Membership, this highly visible and influential role will:

  • Growth Strategy: Be the business owner that develops and implements united, comprehensive strategies to profitably grow membership base and income in both the near and short-term. Leading the creation, implementation, and buy-in for member-focused business plans that drive growth in our targeted member segments.
  • Performance: constantly driving us toward greater efficiency and effectiveness of Membership growth efforts by utilizing a deep analytical understanding of performance drivers to identify pockets of opportunity and influence cross-functionally to improve financial performance and member experience along with key partners. Champion a testing, learning, and innovating approach toward more efficient growth (e.g. conversion rate improvements, incrementality testing, upper-funnel messaging, identifying the right prospects through analytical rigor, balancing acquisition counts against member lifetime value, encouraging upsell to plus memberships, understand drivers/behaviors of renewal).
  • Financial Performance: Lead in ensuring financial goals are met and can be explained, and that actions are being taken to continuously improve performance. Own and develop our analytics/data science roadmap to unlock additional insights. Effectively communicate results and actions to executive leadership, including overseeing budgets for Sam's Club member promotion programs.
  • Marketing Approach: Ensure the Membership strategy is encompassed into a united marketing approach that builds sustainable growth in membership counts, income, and membership/brand perceptions.
  • Membership Strategy & Innovation: Develops and champions transformational and innovative change for multiple integrated strategies across the business by creating a compelling vision and strategy, including the overall membership value proposition, with the ultimate intent of making Sam’s Club the most loved membership in retail. Integrating and championing high-profile initiatives, partnering with multiple business sponsors, eliminating barriers, and obtaining buy in from executive leadership.
  • Membership Insights and Strategic Roadmap: Create and maintain a strategic Membership roadmap to grow Sam’s Club over the long-term, including features/benefits and capabilities that will drive growth for years to come based on extensive member research. Help be the “voice of the Member” to our cross-functional partners.

  • You are someone who enjoys working collaboratively but can ultimately execute projects independently and confidently

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 4 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 7 years'
experience in marketing or related field.
