About the Team

Join our award-winning design team and help us shape the future of retail. Our mission is to bring dignity and access to all through design excellence to all regardless of zip code or bank account. We design richly compelling experiences that improve the daily lives of millions of customers – whether they are at home, in our stores, or on the go. We also craft world-class experiences that enable our merchants, suppliers, sellers and 2.1 million in-store associates to deliver great value to our customers on a daily basis.

This opportunity is in Bentonville, Arkansas where we are expanding our awesome design community in our new, state-of-the-art campus.

The Design Director of UX role at Walmart is a critical strategic role. The Design Director will be part of creating the design strategy which activates business operations across retail experiences for customers and associates. In addition to being a thought partner to our business, engineering, and product partners, this leader will help set the standards for easy use tools, and design how our software and data streams come together to establish a unified approach to insight creation. In this role, you will employ your depth of knowledge designing smart digital experiences to make the complex simple, clear, trusted and delightful. With your strong and growing team of designers, you’ll test your excellent interaction designs with real-world end users to learn and iterate better. You’ll bring your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to the wider team. While working with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations, you will create and champion an experience that is highly engaging and usable, and deliver pixel-perfect detailed design with your team.

By innovating on the world’s biggest stage, you will have the chance to shape the future of retail and beyond. If you are motivated by complex, purposeful challenges, being Design Director, at Walmart could be the fit you’ve been looking for.
