About the Team

Walmart’s People Product & Design organization is focused on transforming the associate experience through consumer-grade AI-driven digital experiences. Our mission is to activate Walmart’s people-led and tech-powered strategy by building people experiences that serve 2.1 million associates across Walmart US, Sam’s Club, Walmart International and Campus. Our portfolio spans all aspects of the associate journey, including talent acquisition, talent management, workforce planning, learning, benefits, compensation, associate listening, time and attendance, core HR, payroll and more. We are the team behind some of Walmart’s most innovative associate-centric tools, including Me@Campus, Me@SamsClub and My Assistant. We proudly serve as a key driver of innovation within Walmart's Global People organization, reporting through Walmart’s Chief People Officer.

Here, you'll have the opportunity to bring your ideas to life, work on 0->1 digital experiences and make a lasting impact on the associate experience. Innovation is ingrained in our culture, fostering out-of-the-box thinking, creative problem-solving, and a willingness to challenge norms. Our team values open communication, respect, associate-centricity, and strategic thinking that’s anchored on driving outcomes for our business and 2.1 million associates across the globe. We are reimagining the future of HR, leveraging AI to empower associates, making the complex simple, and enabling the Global People organization’s boldest digital ambitions.

The Director, UX Design role at Walmart is a critical strategic role. This leader will be part of creating the comprehensive enterprise-wide design strategy to grow and evolve our digital people experiences. In addition to being a thought partner to our business, engineering, and product partners, this leader will help set the standards for consumer grade tools, and experiences for our associates across campus and field populations. This role includes leadership, hands-on design and design direction, and growth of a team of designers in this area.

In this role, you will employ your depth of knowledge designing enterprise software and services to make the complex simple, clear, and trusted. With your strong and growing team of world-class designers, you’ll test your excellent interaction designs with real-world end users to learn and iterate better.

You’ll bring your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to the wider team. While working with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations, you will create and champion an experience that is highly engaging and usable and deliver pixel-perfect detailed design with your team.

By innovating on the world’s biggest stage, you will have the chance to shape the future of the associate experience at the Fortune #1 company. If you are motivated by complex, purposeful challenges, being Director, UX Design, at Walmart could be the fit you’ve been looking for.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have...

  • Ability to produce great work in short timeframes, multitask across different projects and platforms and adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business
  • Thorough experience with business requirement gathering, end-to-journey mapping, facilitating sessions like Design Sprints, conducting competitive analysis, and leading rapid concepting and prototyping
