Join our dynamic and forward-thinking People Technology engineering organization as our Senior Director I of Technology Operations that focuses on Walmart’s international markets, where you’ll be at the forefront of driving international innovation, spearheading transformative projects and foundational improvements.  Your projects will have tremendous impact, be scalable, and at the center of platform modernization efforts in Walmart’s People Technology organization. 



About Team: 
Our team is focused on developing a streamlined, dependable company that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). We also provide a variety of services such as procurement, supplier portfolio management, merchandising master data, and analytics. From developing HR chatbots and virtual assistants to creating invoice solutions and facilitating legal changes, we help drive efficiency across Walmart globally. 

What you'll do:

1. International Market Strategy: 

  • Understand and analyze international market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to formulate a comprehensive software operations strategy. 

  • Collaborate with regional leaders and stakeholders to develop localized software offerings that cater to specific market needs, cultural differences, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Regularly assess each markets performance and adjust strategies as needed. 

2. Cross-Collaboration Leadership: 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing across software development, product management, design, and quality assurance teams. 

  • Establish communication channels, forums, and processes that facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure that teams work seamlessly together. 

  • Lead regular cross-functional meetings to align goals, address challenges, and drive joint decision-making. 

3. Team Leadership: 

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top-tier technology talent to build a diverse and high-performing team. 

  • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members, empowering them to excel in their roles and contribute to the company's success. 

  • Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, continuous learning, and professional growth. 

4. Operational Excellence: 

  • Ensure operational excellence best practices are implemented. 

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to establish efficient development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and streamline the software development lifecycle. 

  • Monitor and evaluate operational processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, scalability, and improved efficiency. 

5. Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Cultivate effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, partners, and vendors. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related matters related to international markets, providing strategic insights and recommendations. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives and customer needs. 

6. Innovation and Growth: 

  • Assist the exploration and assessment of emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that can enhance software capabilities and drive market leadership. 

  • Collaborate with research and development teams to pilot, test, and integrate innovative solutions into existing software offerings. 

  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation by encouraging team members to propose and experiment with new ideas. 

7. Performance Metrics: 

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to software operations in international markets, such as product quality, time-to-market, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. 

  • Regularly analyze KPI data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for strategic adjustments. 

  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement across software operations. 



What you'll bring:

  • 15+ years project and program management experience in software development technologies.

  • 8+ years of leadership experience managing a team of engineers and leaders, and collaborating with multiple cross functional teams. 

  • 5+ years experience with international markets, preferably in people technology or internal infrastructure projects or programs.

  • Experience collaborating with regional and global stakeholders to solve for large scale enterprise solutions which involve large teams.

  • Experience with defining, tracking, and analyzing KPIs related to software operations in international markets that drive continuous improvement.
