What you'll do...

As the Director of Technology Operations, you will be responsible for the overall management and execution of business operations required to run the IT infrastructure within our organization, ensuring we develop a sound annual operating plan and manage against it throughout the year, including working closely with our business partners in Finance, HR, Procurement, etc. as well as our technology partners across Program, Product, and Engineering, etc. You will also sit within the Chief of Staff Office, within Walmart International Technology, supporting the execution of important organizational-wide initiatives that enable the successful management of our overarching Technology strategy. Your role will involve steering the delivery of large-scale, technology-driven projects and programs at the international level, maintaining budgetary and ROI goals, monitoring program progress, and leveraging your technical knowledge to influence stakeholder decision-making. With your leadership and strategic vision, you'll play a pivotal role in driving Walmart's continuous evolution and growth. 


About Team:

Our team drives technology within Walmart International, which has over 5,900 retail units operating outside of the United States under 55 banners in 26 countries including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico, to name a few. 

What you'll do:

Key Responsibilities: 

Financial Management: Monitor delivery schedules and cost expenditures for the programs. Project the ROI of future programs by providing estimation/ budgeting inputs to Business cases, Annual Operating Plan AOPs/Long Range Plan -LRPs. 

Program Definition: Define the charter, statement of work, module owners and performance measurement baselines for all modules within the program. Apply an understanding of operational and financial factors to recommend solutions across business units/functions. 

Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus: Build productive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Influence team and stakeholders with sound recommendations and clear, concise, logically structured reports/material. 

Technology Landscape Awareness: Translate business unit/domain requirements into strategies, initiatives, and projects. Demonstrate practical knowledge of multiple business units/organizations and develop new organization-wide processes. 

Program Estimation: Distribute allocated budget for the program across multiple projects and design multiple response plans through scenario planning for potential risks. 

Business Operations: Design the organizations planning processes and decision-making channels. Develop business cases for own function and demonstrate a big picture understanding of the business. 

Workforce Development: Implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps, supporting mentorship, and succession planning. 

Corporate Culture: Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics, and promote a customer environment. 

Community Engagement: Leverage internal and external partnerships to maximize the achievement of business goals and lead key community outreach and involvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role in technology, retail, or a related field. 
  • Extensive experience in Operations and Financial Management.
