About the team:
The Global Tech Platform Program Management Office provides the Program Management leadership for over 200 cloud platform management products in private and public clouds. We own and drive the execution rhythm needed to achieve the platform's goals and deliver high quality outcomes in an agile, predictable, & efficient manner. We play our part in innovating on the world’s largest stage. The Platform PMO community has over 120 Portfolio, Program, and Project Practitioners.
This position will be aligned with Walmart Global Tech’s Data Platform team which develops and manages data foundational technologies on which customer experiences are built.
This role will be a crucial enabler for end-to-end delivery of programs spanning cross-functional and geographic boundaries. We are looking for a delivery-obsessed collaborator, an individual contributor, who uses their engineering and leadership skills and will work alongside our talented Data platform engineering teams, to help our teams deliver the best value for our customers.
What you’ll do:
Manage multiple highly complex projects or a large complex GTP – Data platform program by driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project's charter; serving as the program lead for multiple projects; developing and maintaining a project schedule to track milestones; developing and executing plans for managing risk; escalating project-related issues to management in accordance with project guidelines and requirements; managing project change control processes; coordinating production issue resolution; interpreting data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management; making recommendations regarding solutions to problems or issues; and presenting project status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Minimum Qualification
Option 1, Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 7 years of technical project or program management experience.
Option 2, Have a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or MBA and a minimum of 5 years of technical project or program management experience.
Have experience with Agile methods including Scrum and Kanban.
Have enterprise software engineering program management or project management experience for full SDLC.
Have experience using product backlog management tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Project for planning, execution, and release transparency. Should be able to build a project plan – milestones with work breakdown with dependencies, dates etc.
Ability to articulate technical concepts in business terms through MS Office tools including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Ability to document and communicate project commitments, progress status, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
Have excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Nice to Haves
Proficient using database technologies and distributed systems – Cassandra, Cosmos, GCP – Spanner, Elastic Search, Cache
Experience with Azure, GCP, and Openstack. Experience migrating applications to these cloud offerings.
Industry certifications which may include Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agelist, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
