Position Summary...
What you'll do...
- Oversee inventory plans for complex strategic business units by reviewing annual, monthly, weekly, and daily projections against actual results; monitor category markdown budget; review and approve markdown proposals; develop prioritized markdown recommendations for senior management when markdowns exceed budget; align category inventory and turn plans; and prepare inventory projections, financial analyses, and reports to understand and explain business trends and performance.
- Oversee third-party vendor relationships and contracts, operational performance, and financial profit and loss by developing relationships and interfacing with vendor leadership personnel who provide services over a wide range of products; review and analyze contract negotiations and contract management; ensure that operational expenses are properly managed; and ensure that budgets and financial commitments are met.
- Drives the development of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; develop and communicate business plans and priorities; remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance; provide resources; identify performance standards; measure progress and adjust performance accordingly; develop contingency plans; and demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning.
- Oversee, develop, and prioritize key business strategies and communication platforms by managing cross-functional initiatives that impact store and corporate processes; develop merchandising programs and initiatives, customer and company communications, and associate training content; make recommendations for system support developments; recommend merchandise priorities for store operations; provide insight to senior management and other business partners on key issues and opportunities to drive the business; and translate merchandise strategies for assigned departments into executable programs for store operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leverage the capabilities of new and existing talent.
