Join our team for the summer and get immersed in the incredible world of Walmart Transportation! You will be assigned on one of our transportation teams for 10 weeks, where you’ll own a meaningful project aimed at improving our service to the customer, reducing supply chain costs, and/or improving vital processes. Bring your tremendous knowledge, experience, creativity, and energy, and help us better serve millions of Americans every day!

Key Responsibilities may Include:

• Manage end-to-end supply chain processes and ensure timely merchandise flow through the distribution network and fulfillment centers
• Develop strategy and innovation to simplify current transportation solutions and methodologies
• Research and analyze root cause of exceptions in various transportation activities (e.g. carrier procurement, system integration, on-time carrier service, driver routing, network/node optimization, supplier relations, etc.)
• Improve supply chain execution by determining optimal flow path channel from supplier to store to best fit sales, in-stock, and profit metrics; collaborating between supply chain stakeholders to ensure sales, in-stock, inventory, profitability, and strategy goals are achieved
• Analyze data from multiple sources and stakeholders to streamline and improve network efficiencies
• Track movement and arrival of goods across the supply chain
• Identify order exceptions, disruptions, and supply chain constraints that will impact transportation execution; and develop and coordinate resolution(s).
• Identify areas of opportunity to improve service levels
• Support the use of end-to-end costing methodology and lean concepts; provide cost recommendations to reduce process waste, and provide opportunities for cost reductions and process efficiencies
• Remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance
• Develop and present recommendations to leaders and relevant stakeholders
