Line Cook

The Opportunity

The Line Cook plays a critical role in delivering the UHP experience through food that fuels performance. This role is responsible for preparing and executing nutrient-dense meals with consistency, precision, and care in a high-volume dining environment.

This role requires a strong understanding of clean cooking techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to execute at a high level in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen.

What You’ll Do

Daily Execution

  • Food Preparation & Cooking
    • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion standards, and nutritional guidelines.
    • Execute a variety of cooking methods including grilling, roasting, steaming, sautéing, and baking.
    • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all meals.
  • Nutrition-Focused Cooking
    • Utilize cooking techniques that preserve nutritional value (e.g., steaming, blanching, poaching).
    • Follow structured meal plans designed to support performance and recovery.
  • Dietary Compliance
    • Adhere strictly to dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, and allergen-sensitive meals.
    • Maintain awareness of cross-contamination and food safety best practices.
  • Station & Kitchen Operations
    • Set up, maintain, and break down kitchen stations.
    • Ensure all equipment, workspaces, and food storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Service & Support
    • Assist with meal service in dining hall environments as needed.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during high-volume service.
  • Sanitation & Compliance
    • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
    • Perform routine cleaning including dishes, equipment, floors, and workstations.
What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 1+ year of experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume or performance-focused kitchens is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knife skills and understanding of fundamental cooking techniques.
  • Familiarity with nutrition-focused cooking and alternative ingredients (e.g., plant-based proteins, whole grains) preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination practices.

Physical Requirements
