Summary of Job Duties:

The Strategic Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the University of Arkansas’s mission by partnering with campus departments to deliver full-cycle recruitment and proactive, strategic talent acquisition. This position manages job postings, sources and assesses candidates, consults with hiring managers, and executes recruitment-related Workday HCM transactions. The Specialist helps position the University as an Employer of Choice and ensures an exceptional experience for candidates and hiring managers.

Key responsibilities include:

Talent Sourcing: Identify and engage candidates through job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.

Candidate Assessment: Screen and evaluate candidates for qualifications and organizational fit.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Partners to develop recruitment plans aligned with university objectives.

Employer Branding: Promote the University of Arkansas as an attractive employer to enhance reputation and attract top talent.

Talent Pipelining: Build and maintain a pipeline of candidates for future opportunities.

Data Analysis: Track and report on recruitment metrics, including pool size, time to fill, and turnover.

Candidate Experience: Provide a positive, professional experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Compliance: Ensure recruitment processes comply with employment laws and university policies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of talent acquisition or other recruiting experience

Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human Resource or Recruiting experience in Higher Education

  • At least four years of talent acquisition or other recruiting experience

  • Experience with Workday HCM

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting practices, strategies, and methodologies

  • Understanding of employment branding principles

  • Skill in developing recruitment plans based on unit needs, candidate availability, and market conditions

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple searches and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to build and maintain strong hiring manager relationships

  • Ability to partner strategically with HR Partners, hiring managers, and leadership as a trusted advisor
