Summary of Job Duties:

The Coordinator of Registered Student Organizations works under the direction of the Director of Campus and Community Engagement and is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of Registered Student Organizations, as well as developing training efforts and maintaining accessible materials for both student leaders and their RSO advisors. The Coordinator will assist with planning campus-wide events that contribute to RSO involvement and recognition such as the Campus Picnic and Block Party, Homecoming Week, and the NUMAS Leadership Award Ceremony.


Qualifications:

Education & Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, a record of successful involvement in campus life, at least two years of previous higher education work experience or student activities experience while in college or as a professional, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Preferred Education & Experience – Master’s Degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or related field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • (55%) Oversee the development, education, funding, and management of more than 100 registered student organizations

  • (12%) Serve as main campus administrator for NUMALink to include all system updates, communication, marketing, and training.

  • (10%) Develop and manage training materials, training sessions and retreats for student leaders and advisors

  • (8%) Work with the Coordinator for Student Activities and Civic Engagement to plan and successfully execute the NUMAs Leadership Awards Ceremony, Campus Picnic and Block Party and Homecoming Week.

  • (5%) Creates, implements, and reports on an annual assessment plan that aligns with the University Strategic Plan and ULO’s.

  • (3%) Co-Advise the Student Government Association by working with SGA Finance and Allocations Committee on RSO Reserve Fund Requests and all finance budget transfers

  • (3%) Supervise Registered Student Organizations (RSO) Student Assistant.

  • (4%) Supervise the Marketing Student Assistant with their media campaign planning, optimization strategies, and campaign performance success

List Employees Supervised: The Coordinator of Registered Student Organizations will not directly supervise any professional staff but will supervise the RSO Student Assistant and Marketing Student Assistant.


Additional Information:

Working Relationships: Works with Student Affairs staff, faculty and staff from across campus, students, vendors, members of the business community, community colleges, and members of the local community.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office setting. Will be required to work some evenings and weekends. May also be asked to perform tasks which may require occasional lifting of at least 20 pounds.
