Summary of Job Duties:

The Registered Dietitian (RD) will be based in the Primary Care Clinic at the Pat Walker Health Center serving a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff of the University of Arkansas. The RD will use evidence-based practice, education and experience for clinical care and responsibilities to provide 1:1 nutrition education and counseling. Other duties include education and instruction in health/dietetic matters for individual patients including preventative care/screening. The RD, as indicated, will collaborate with medical, nursing, lab and x-ray staff for standard operations and evidence-based medicine to meet regulatory compliance. Active participation in improvement projects/processes, multidisciplinary meetings, and professional development. Exercises fiscal responsibility by managing time and resources efficiently; prioritizing effective patient care.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human nutrition and/or Dietetics or equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) via the Commission on Dietetic Registration

  • Licensure from the Arkansas Dietetics Licensing Board (LD)

  • At least one to three years of healthcare experience in clinical dietetics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Dietetics or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietician (CEDRD) or willingness to work toward Certification.

  • Professional experience in a college health setting or with a college population.

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Extensive knowledge and skills to utilize various methods to deliver learning solutions for desired training outcomes.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of the communication techniques and relationship building skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of (young) adult growth and development.

  • Knowledge and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g. Microsoft Office, e-mail, presentation software, and electronic medical record).


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.


Salary Information:

$62,000 - $65,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
