Summary of Job Duties:

The CAPS Mental Health Clerk serves as a member of the clinical and administrative teams (Front Office) of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and is supervised by the Office Manager. This position performs receptionist, clerical, and other administrative tasks in order to effectively serve the mental health needs of students at the University of Arkansas. Additionally, responsible for verifying documentation prior to processing. Assisting clients with CAPS resources, answering calls and providing customer service. Attention to detail and adhere to confidentiality policy regarding clients. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a patient care representative

  • At least two years of experience in healthcare/mental health/behavioral health or a related field

  • Experience on a college or university campus

  • Experience working in a setting requiring a high degree of confidentiality

  • Experience multi-tasking and performing well under high-pressure situations

  • Bilingual

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics

  • Knowledge of research and analysis techniques and methods

  • Knowledge of work-related subject area Knowledge of computers and software applications

  • Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports

  • Ability to research and analyze related work program information

  • Ability to develop, recommend, interpret, and apply policies and procedures

  • Ability to analyze financial records and prepare reports

  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others
