Summary of Job Duties:
The Academic Success Center (ASC) Assistant Director provides specialized academic support and intervention programming for UAFS students. The ASC Assistant Director position will support the Director in the development of effective academic support services for students and the ASC and help ensure the efficient operation of all programming. The ASC Assistant Director will supervise part-time Peer Tutors and work with the Director to ensure student success and retention programs are managed efficiently including academic coaching, peer tutoring, coaching case management, classroom presentations, academic testing, and workshop facilitation.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and three years of related experience in an educational setting.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Assessment, Instructional Design or a related field. Experience with peer mentoring programs, student success coursework, or students with learning disabilities. Direct supervision of undergraduate students.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champions and manages ASC Peer Tutor Program which includes hiring, training, and supervising part-time Peer Tutors and providing ongoing program development and engagement
- Outreach, collaborate, build partnerships, and develop new programs with students, faculty, and staff to support the mission of the ASC and enhance academic coaching, testing, and tutoring services
- Serve as an Academic Coach for at-risk populations, including non-traditional students, transfer students, and students in the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences
- Analyze and evaluate programming to better communicate with stakeholders the impact and value of ASC services and interventions
- Administers, proctors, scores, and transmits results of all tests administered by the Testing Center. Observes college, state/federal, and test agency policies and procedures for security/confidentiality of testing records; includes adherence to FERPA as it relates to the ASC and testing services.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates
- Requires consistent on-time attendance and occasional availability to work evenings and weekends to support university events
- Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties as requested or assigned

- Knowledge of test administration best practices

- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skill
