Summary of Job Duties:

The Post-doctoral researcher should have a Ph.D. degree in a Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Science & Humanities or related discipline. We are seeking a highly skilled Post-doctoral researcher with extensive hands-on experience in designing and executing experiments, as well as translating technology to commercial settings. The role involves working with the University of Arkansas Endowment fund, focusing on process development, pilot-scale production, and technology transfer of stable fibroblast growth factors for broad metabolic and therapeutic applications, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative medicine like tissue growth and repair wound healing and regeneration. Cell proliferation, and differentiation in serum free cell culture media. Cosmetic and Dermatological application for anti-aging and skin-repair etc. The project encompasses upstream and downstream processes to improve the volumetric yield of recombinant human Fibroblast Growth Factors in E. coli and mammalian suspension cell cultures, alongside analytical development (Fast Liquid Chromatography, ultra-centrifugation, Polymerase Chain Reaction, circular dichroism, differential scanning calorimetry, Electrophoresis techniques and essential molecular and immunological bioassay techniques) and the creation of affordable therapeutics. Additionally, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate proficiency in liaison activities, fostering industry-academia collaborations, and effectively engaging with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

The Post-doctoral researcher will also be expected to collaborators in multi-institutional/industry and will also be responsible for strategic planning to formulate, and effectuate pre-clinical experiment to translate into therapeutic product. This position can be renewed every year upon the availability of funding and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Biomedical Engineering, and Biotechnology, or related discipline conferred by the start of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working experience in the design and execution of process development and production of recombinant growth factor like Fibroblast Growth Factors, Epidermal Growth Factor and related experiments.

  • Proficient in liaison activities, and technology transfer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of robust and efficient upstream (High-cell Density Production) process development of therapeutics proteins from various production platforms (E. coli and HEK293)

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of various lab-scale chromatography and filtration equipment and skids at pilot scale

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of process scale-up, troubleshooting and tech-transfer

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of developing and applying protein characterization analytical assays supporting purification processes development

  • Experience in and knowledge of writing project proposals, study plans, SOPs, tech-transfer documents

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of managing research projects and managing multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience in and knowledge of design of cGMP pilot facility for recombinant Protein manufacturing and its working environment is plus


Additional Information:

This is a 3-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.
