Summary of Job Duties:

The Event Services Administrative Assistant will work 20 flexible hours per week. This position will provide support to the Event Services for the Arkansas Union.
Responsibilities include assisting with billing, managing emails, answering phone calls, reporting, and data research. The Event Services Administrative Assistant will also communicate effectively with customers and support teams, including Custodial, Maintenance, Catering, and other administrative staff. An open mind to on-the-job learning opportunities, punctuality, teamwork, and communication skills are essential to this position. There will also be opportunities for professional development and training in office management and administrative procedures.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Arkansas and must be in good academic standing

  • Administrative or clerical experience

  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with billing/accounting

  • Experience working in a higher education environment, or involvement in campus life (e.g., Greek Life, Registered Student Organization, etc.)

  • Majors in Business, Hospitality/Event Management, and/or related fields are preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Familiarity with billing and accounting processes

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective time management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Ability to handle office equipment and supplies

  • Ability to present oneself in a professional manner

Salary Information:

$11.25 per hour
