Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Finance (FINN) at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level starting August 11, 2025. Candidates are expected to publish research in top-tier finance journals, teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute their service to the university.

Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others are essential functions and required for faculty members in the Sam M. Walton College of Business. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of finance will be considered.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in finance, economics or a closely related field from a nationally or internationally accredited university conferred by the start of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong research publication record or the potential to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed academic journals

  • A record of presentations at top-tier academic finance or economics conferences

  • Experience in teaching finance courses with strong teaching evaluations

The Department of Finance: The Department of Finance at the Sam M. Walton College of Business has an active research-oriented Ph.D. program, a Master of Science in Finance program, a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management, and a BSBA major in Finance. The faculty in the Department of Finance have diverse research interests and publish in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
