Summary of Job Duties:

The Extra Help Assistant is responsible for providing unskilled, semi-skilled labor or performing basic office tasks in a state agency or institution. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Please note that program assistants may be asked to work or assist in other areas as needed and complete other duties as assigned. Applicants must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, high traffic environment and demonstrate attention to detail.

Duties in the Test Center may include, but are not limited to:
• Proctoring tests
• Answering phones
• Assisting with the check-in /check-out process
• Scanning completed exams
• Maintaining a regular cleaning schedule

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty. Also, the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others and work one-on-one with students.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • ​Excellent written and verbal comprehension and communication skills with the English language, as evidenced in application materials

  • Proven attention to detail as evidenced in application materials

  • Must be available to work 10-20 hours between 8:00am and 7:00pm with extended hours during finals week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current University of Arkansas student

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience with databases or other specialized software

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to work with a diverse population

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high traffic environment

Salary Information:

$14.00-$15.50
