Summary of Job Duties:
The position manages all personnel transactions for the department, including assisting the department with workday transactions/tasks by providing resources and hiring and supervising departmental administrative specialists and hourly employees. Facilitating hiring of all positions, handling terminations and resignations, supporting increases in compensation, transfers, and promotions. Responsible for editing all position restrictions via Workday. Integral in implementing contingent positions for Emeritus faculty members, as well as assisting new employees with completing form I9, coordinating payment elections, email accounts and other miscellaneous new-hire requirements, maintain Department Head/Center Director office, including calendar, meeting and travel arrangements, telephone, and written communications. Maintain department calendar to assure the department meets deadlines and complies with all prevailing policies and procedures. Coordinate all department reporting including Faculty Service Reviews, annual report, REEport projects and student reports, and promotion applications, assist students with registration, removing advising holds, administrative drop/add and submission of ACOR forms; class overrides, change of grade forms, and setting up special problems/special topic courses. Accessing CLSS to schedule Call for Classes by adding courses, deleting courses, and adjusting meeting patterns, sessions, combined classes, and classroom assignments. Additionally, assist faculty and transfer POSC Students to appropriate advisors, assist with UAConnect access as well as security clearances and advisor access, updating instructor tables, and revising the POSC catalogs (faculty and undergrad POSC clubs) and assist Graduate Coordinators by collecting and filing MS and PhD thesis/dissertation paperwork, directing POSC hourly employees, and supervising departmental administrative staff (HEI Coordinator), which includes training and development in providing customer service, distributing company policies and procedural information, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and completing annual performance evaluations. Acting as the departmental Data Steward to ensure that a data domain is classified appropriately. Assigning room/building keys to new employees, reserving conference rooms, and oversight of parking in the POSC circle driveway parking area.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree with a strong background in business or related field.

- Three years experience in administrative management.
