Summary of Job Duties:

The Faculty and Project/Program Specialist will work in the areas of course support and development for online courses in the Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) program. This position researches and assesses online educational needs and interests for targeted public segments, and applies this to the development of online courses, materials, technology, and learning approaches accordingly; ensures online courses meet quality standards and adhere to university regulations by working with Global Campus, Blackboard administration, and other units; contributes to faculty support and development; and provides one-on-one assistance to faculty in the process of design, development, and delivery of engaging, interactive and instructionally sound materials and activities that address various learning styles and are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. Additionally, the Project/Program Specialist will assist with the development of assessment surveys and rubrics; will contribute to the planning and delivery of faculty training; must have the ability to organize and effectively communicate, problem-solve, and apply creative solutions. Other essential duties for this position include contributing to program administration, website maintenance, and data reporting. This position will work with contacts across multiple units and departments.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years relevant experience

  • Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated problem-resolution skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas

  • Thorough knowledge of campus policies and procedures

  • Thorough knowledge of and skill in support and delivery of online educational programs

  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation

  • Knowledge of GAAP

  • Knowledge and use of LMS functionality, reporting, and course management

  • Knowledge and use of collaboration software (chat, desktop sharing, conferencing)

  • Knowledge of online course development process

  • Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills

  • Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills

  • Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments, i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

  • Thorough attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills
