Summary of Job Duties:

The PC Systems Analyst is responsible for performing tasks directly related to the support of computers, printers, networking, and audio visual equipment, software, and end-user problems. This position reports to the Manager, Customer Support.


Qualifications:

Required Education & Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer hardware and software support or a closely related field. Applicants having an associate degree in computer hardware and software support or a related field (or equivalent hours) and two years of related experience will also be considered. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of computer system repair requirements.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate projects.
  • Ability to install, implement and maintain computer applications.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to users.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, Active Directory Administration, and networking is essential.
  • Ability and willingness to become proficient in new software packages quickly.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical software and hardware support on technology related incidents and project tasks. Performs installation and maintenance of software (operating system and applications) on campus workstations, maintenance, and repair of computers and other related equipment, computer peripherals, printers and other related devices for student labs, faculty, and staff.
  • Performs project assigned tasks for the installation and maintenance of audio visual and computer related equipment in labs, classrooms, office areas, and meeting rooms. This occurs as needed.

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inventories technology-related equipment performs other related tasks such as moving of boxes and equipment, office moves, and new hardware installations. This occurs as needed.
  • Keeps informed of new software releases and plans for their distribution. Work with other department member to specify hardware and software for purchase. This occurs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance.

Working Relationships: Work in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment. This individual has contact with faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis.

Special Job Dimensions: Extended hours and on-call duty occasionally required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Lifting, carting, pushing, or pulling heavy objects up to 50 pounds occasionally required. Must be able to work on ladders. Must be able to work effectively under pressure in a busy and demanding environment. Routine work hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Salary Information:

$41,000-$46,484/year commensurate with education and experience
