Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Director of Building Services provides supervision, direction, contract oversight and qualitative management of the Building Services area, to ensure that the highest levels of cleanliness and student or campus guest satisfaction are maintained. Provide a work environment that promotes integrity, fosters teamwork, recognizes initiative, and ensures excellence throughout. The Assistant Director is responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, appearance, working or living environment of all residential housing, which consists of 19 residence halls and one 50 unit apartment complex.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of supervisory experience in facilities services

  • Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic supervisory functions

  • Experience in functioning and/or uses of housekeeping equipment, and record keeping skills

  • Experience in a higher education residence system, Workday, CMMS, MS Office, MS Word, and MS excel is preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the importance of the on-campus living experience.

  • Knowledge of APPA Standards

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, such as, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Ability to supervise a large staff working in various locations.
