Summary of Job Duties:
This Social Media Manager is responsible for the management of the social media platforms for the Walton College of Business, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and any other channels as needed. At least 2-4 years of experience in direct social media management is required. This person will also lead photography and video work for social media specifically, working closely with the design and audio/video teams on graphic design and videos for utilization on social media such as Instagram Reels, and Stories. They will also serve as an internal subject matter expert on social media for our partners within the college, including department chairs and directors of each center. This person will be a promotional savvy professional with an eye for compelling visual content and driving engagement, especially within the context of a business school environment. They should have a proven ability to create, grow and manage a social media following and drive results. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. The position will manage two interns.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, PR, communications, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two years of direct social media marketing experience
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms and their respective participants, (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and others as needed) with proven results of growing a following or action on at least one of these platforms and knowledge of how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
Experience in interpreting social media analytics
At least two years of direct social media marketing experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics
Excellent skillset in communications (oral, written, visual), quality control and planning/organizing
Photography and video skills specific to use on social media platforms
Considerable experience with content and lead generation in the field of social media
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to generate genuine interactions with a variety of stakeholders including students, alumni, faculty and staff
