POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an Education and Empowerment Coordinator to lead specialized education and empowerment engagement programs. Reporting to the I3R Executive Administrator, this role involves resource provision, program facilitation, and relationship-building within the institution and the wider community. Collaborating with stakeholders, the coordinator advocates for student education and empowerment, and supports the design and delivery of programming to promote learning, development, and community engagement.

The Education and Empowerment Coordinator within I3R serves a pivotal role in fostering lasting impact by engaging with diverse communities and establishing initiatives for undergraduate research and workforce training. By empowering individuals through education, skill development, and community engagement, the coordinator strives to expand impact from local to global levels. With a comprehensive approach spanning K-12 education to workforce development, this role ensures meaningful and sustainable impact, fostering success across diverse demographic groups and educational settings.

We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the capacity to work independently and collaboratively. A professional demeanor and the ability to establish effective working relationships are crucial in building trust and influence to accomplish work within a setting that includes a wide array of individuals, groups, policies, and processes.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook

  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of their unique needs and challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement educational programs or initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Higher Education setting

  • Experience developing and implementing student engagement programs

  • Experience working with diverse student populations

  • Experience with the Workday system

  • Experience in project management and program coordination

  • Familiarity with workforce training programs and industry standards

  • Experience working in community engagement or outreach roles

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current trends and issues in higher education and student affairs

  • Knowledge of research methodologies and practices, particularly in undergraduate settings

  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
